Privacy Notice
How New Generation Electrics uses and protects information when you visit this website or contact us about electrical work.
Danny White, trading as New Generation Electrics, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. New Generation Electrics is based in Reading, Berkshire. Questions or requests can be sent to info@newgenerationelectrics.co.uk or made by telephone on 07753 207792.
Information we collect
When you make an enquiry, we may collect your first and last name, email address, telephone number, message, property or project details, and any plans or other information you choose to send. We also keep relevant correspondence and records created while discussing, quoting for or carrying out work.
The website may record limited technical and security information, such as an IP address, browser or device information and the time of a request. It stores your analytics preference in your browser. If you accept analytics, measurement services may collect information about how the website is used.
How and why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, discuss your project and take steps you ask us to take before a contract.
- To prepare quotes, deliver work, provide aftercare and manage our relationship with customers.
- For legitimate business purposes such as keeping the website secure, improving our service, handling queries and protecting legal rights.
- To meet legal, tax, accounting, insurance and regulatory obligations.
- To measure website use when you have chosen to accept analytics. You can reject non-essential analytics when the privacy choices banner appears.
We do not use website enquiry details for marketing and do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects using solely automated processing.
Who receives information
Information is shared only where needed to run the business and website. This can include website and email hosting supplied by IONOS, website form software, professional advisers, insurers, suppliers or subcontractors involved in a project, and public authorities where disclosure is required by law.
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may receive website-use information only after analytics is accepted. Pages containing an interactive Google map may connect to Google when the map is loaded. These providers may process information outside the UK under the safeguards described in their own privacy information.
How long we keep it
Raw enquiries that do not become a quote, customer or project are normally kept for up to 12 months from submission. Related email conversations are normally kept for up to 12 months after the last substantive contact.
If an enquiry becomes a quote, customer or project, necessary information moves into our normal business records and is kept for the period required for the work, aftercare, legal claims, tax, accounting, insurance and regulatory purposes. Security records may be kept for a shorter or longer period where reasonably necessary to investigate an incident.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer, or object to its use. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.
Contact info@newgenerationelectrics.co.uk to make a request. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
Website choices and external links
The analytics choice is saved in local browser storage so the website can remember it. You can clear this through your browser’s site-data settings to make the choice again. Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Google reviews and other external websites are governed by those services once you follow them.
